Shihan Dan Nolan has been actively practicing the martial arts for 30 years, and teaching for the last 12 years. He holds senior Dan degrees in several Okinawan and Japanese traditional Bujutsu arts under the Juko-ryu system, including Shorin-ryu Karate, Toide Aikijujutsu, Kempo-Jujutsu, Kobujutsu, and Iai-jutsu / Ken-jutsu (traditional Japanese Samurai sword). He also is the head instructor of Juko-ryu Bujutsu at Chamberlain Studios at the Bachman location in Dallas. In his spare time, Dan enjoys golfing, yoga, hiking, reading and traveling.
Dan has many years of experience teaching students of all ranks, from beginner to advanced. In addition to teaching formal classes, Dan teaches women’s self defense seminars, and one-on-one personal training. He places emphasis on helping students achieve their goals through physical conditioning and proper technique.
He places special attention on proper breathing techniques, as the importance of the breath cannot be underestimated for power, protection, and overall good health. Dan believes very strongly in the JuKo Kai Motto: “If you believe it, you can achieve it.”
