Gasan Ryu Kenpo
The primary style of martial arts taught at Chamberlain Studios of Self-Defense™ is Gasan Ryu™ Kenpo. Gasan Ryu is an offshoot of the Hawaiian system of Kajukenbo and Nick Cerio’s Kenpo. It was developed by Grand Master Nick Chamberlain after 25 years of training with some of the world’s best Martial Arts instructors. Gasan Ryu will give you a well rounded system of self-defense that you can tailor to your own needs and interests. Gasan Ryu (Moon-Mountain style) is a practical, efficient, and easy to learn system that incorporates the kicking and punching of Karate, the throws, locks and mat-work of Judo and Jiu-Jitsu, the explosive striking power of Kenpo, and the hand techniques of western boxing.
3 Steps to a Great Kid
The core of our children’s curriculum is the “3 Steps to a Great Kid” character development program, which was developed by Dr. Nick Chamberlain in conjunction with other top educators. Kenpo Karate provides good exercise and self-discipline, builds confidence, and establishes achievable goals.
The self-defense skills we teach are applicable in the real world, not just tournaments, and will give your children both confidence and practical tools to use throughout their lives. We partner with schools across the metroplex to provide afterschool programs, summer camps, and more.
Self Defense Workshops
Chamberlain Studios of Self Defense is committed to providing people with the skills they need to remain safe in today’s modern world. Self-Defense is more than knowing how to fight back against a physical attack, it provides psychological awareness, verbal skills, and safety strategies that enable someone to successfully prevent, escape, resist and survive violent assaults. Participation in self-defense classes encourages you to think in terms of options and choices, develops your awareness and assertiveness skills and provides practice for physical self-defense techniques. A good self-defense class will expand the way you think about violence prevention, help you deal with your fears and enable you to feel more empowered in your life. Our instructors provide a full range of self-defense classes, from 2-3 hour workshops to semester long classes.
Chalkline Fitness brought together a unique panel of experts and coaches including: Canadian Olympic boxer, Martin Mezzera; Dr. Paul McDonough, PhD., professor of Exercise Physiology at UTA; and martial arts master, Dr. Nick Chamberlain. These experts created an exclusive strength and conditioning program incorporating the most advanced training practices from elite trainers around the world. These include skills taken from such diverse areas as the martial arts, boxing, progressive resistance training, yoga, plyometrics, and interval training. Expect a fun, exciting, results oriented workout, that will increase your strength, stamina, flexibility, aerobic conditioning and coordination!
