My number one tip for self-defense, right out of the gate, is awareness of your surroundings. If you are not aware of your surroundings, where you’re walking, the things that are around you, the people that are around you, everything else is going to fail. So that is your very first line of self-defense. And from there,  we build on our skills,  where if that awareness has failed, and somebody gets inside your space, that’s when we go into the other stuff.

But, if you’re aware of things around you, and people and what’s going on, that’s gonna help you in 90% of scenarios where you’re going to get in trouble.
